We face several laundry problems, especially while washing clothes in a washing machine. To begin with, there is always the headache of keeping a track of time with regards to adding various additives at different stages of the wash cycle. Most of us also face the eternal dilemma of using too much or too little detergent, which is a significant cause for improperly washed clothes. Of course, there is the issue of residue or streaks of powder detergent being left behind on washed clothes, and sometimes it is those stubborn stains on our favourite shirt that refuse to go.Â
Since we wanted to take care of these issues related to washing clothes in a washing machine, we tried a new way of doing laundry- using detergent capsules! We saw that they were easily accessible and provided a hassle-free, convenient way of doing laundry. Moreover, we were wowed by its excellent cleaning performance. They made our entire clothes washing experience a breeze. However, to get the best out of any detergent, we first need to understand how to use it correctly, which is why we have tried to answer all your questions about detergent capsules right here.
What are Detergent Capsules?
Laundry detergent capsules are water-soluble pouches with pre-measured concentrated laundry detergent that releases the perfect dosage of detergent and fragrance into our wash, making it a blessing in disguise for people with busy lives. We tried Surf Excel 3 in 1 Smart Shots as its label mentioned that it has a unique three-chamber smart technology. This technology keeps all its ingredients separated and stable until they get activated on coming in contact with the water in the machine. What does all this really mean? Three amazing benefits for us -advanced stain removal, care for our fabrics, and long-lasting fragrance!

Why Try Detergent Capsules?
Enhanced Laundry Experience
When it comes to convenience and being incredibly handy, nothing can beat washing machine detergent capsules. With Surf Excel 3 in 1 Smart Shots, all we had to do was follow a three-step process of place, load and start to get an entire batch of clean clothes, which also smelled great. The capsules can be used for both top load and front load washing machines, and are suitable for whites as well as coloured clothes.

As they come in a pre-measured dose of detergent packs, the tendency of overdosing gets eliminated, giving consistent washing results in the machine each time. They also have the additional benefit of using low levels of water without compromising on cleanliness.
Specially formulated to Provide Multiple Benefits
While using Surf Excel 3 in 1 Smart Shots, we observed that its 3 in 1 special formula provides a host of benefits like clothes being free of residues and streaks, maintaining brightness and colour of clothes even after multiple washes in the washing machine, leaving behind a great fragrance, effective stain removal and so much more.Â
Considering the comfort and ease it offers, along with the myriad advantages, detergent capsules proved to be an extremely cost-effective option, eliminating the use of other additives for us.
Compatible with all Kinds of Machines
Whether you own a top-load or a front-load machine, detergent capsules are compatible with all of them.Â
No Requirement of Specific Temperature Setting of Water
Surf Excel 3 in 1 Smart Shots easily dissolve in both hot and cold water thus not requiring any prior temperature setting of water.
Can Detergent Capsules Leave Behind Residue?
In our experience, mostly residue appears on clothes after washing in the machine because of adding too much detergent before the wash. However, with detergent capsules, only a pre-measured amount of detergent is released, which prevents any chances of overdosing. Thus, detergent capsules ensure that there is no residue formation on clothes as long as you use them correctly.
Things to Keep in Mind before Using Detergent Capsules
1. Determine the Load Size
In our experience, for standard load size, all you need is one Surf Excel 3 in 1 Smart Shots. In the case of a heavier load, we recommend using two Surf Excel 3 in 1 Smart Shots to get the best out of your wash.Â
2. Do Not use for Pre-wash
Detergent capsules are not suitable for pre-wash in buckets and pre-stain treatment. However, if you do have stains that require pretreatment you can apply some liquid detergent directly on the stain and pretreat it. Â
3. Always Handle with Dry Hands
Detergent capsules have an easily soluble pouch that contains the concentrated detergent. This pouch breaks apart when it comes into contact with the machine's water. We have seen that handling them with wet hands or storing them in damp areas causes the detergent capsule’s outer film to dissolve before use. Thus, we suggest holding the detergent capsules with completely dry hands and placing them in a sealed storage container, especially if staying in hot, humid places to prevent damage from moisture.
4. Place the Detergent Capsule First
In our experience, for an effective wash, it's best to add detergent capsules like Surf Excel 3 in 1 Smart Shots in the empty drum before adding the clothes into it. When we place the Surf Excel 3 in 1 Smart Shots on top of the clothes, we have seen that it may not dissolve properly. We must place the Surf Excel 3 in 1 Smart Shots as it is without pressing, popping, cutting, or biting into it.
5. Avoid Overloading the Machine
Whether you are using a top-load or front-load machine, you must avoid overloading to prevent improper washing. We have seen that by using our hand, we can determine whether the machine is overloaded. If there is enough space between the clothes and the drum for our palm to fit in easily, we are good to go. Whereas if there is not enough space, we need to take some clothes out.
6. Store Carefully & Away from Kids
While using detergent capsules, one must be vigilant and not leave them on top of the machine within easy reach of kids or pets. Detergent capsules are colourful and have a candy-like appearance, thereby proving to be dangerous if they attract children's attention. Once used, they must be sealed in the pouch properly, placed back in the tub, and kept on a high shelf or locked safely in a cupboard.
