With the festive season in full swing, gatherings of friends and family at home are inevitable. As hosts, we go all out, from cleaning our houses to preparing mouth-watering dishes and finally laying out the table with our best crockery and cutlery.. But, once the guests leave and the kitchen sink is overflowing with dirty dishes, we can’t help but fret, thinking of the daunting task ahead of us. We especially find cleaning the grease-laden crockery and utensils challenging as water alone does not have an effect on grease and oil because they are hydrophobic. In other words, it is difficult for water to break them down. Hence, stronger cleaning solutions are needed to get rid of them.

Also, the pandemic has only heightened our sense of kitchen hygiene. With all the crockery and utensils passing through the hands of several people, they end up carrying a lot of germs. Hence, it is essential that our dishes are not only clean but also germ-free. Thankfully, we were able to find an effective solution to address our concerns. Read on to know the step-by-step process of how we have been able to clean our greasy dishes efficiently after each party this festive season.

Some Golden Rules to Follow:

  1. Since washing crockery as soon as we use them is impossible during a party, the next best thing is to ensure that we scrape off all the food residue to prevent any stains from settling in.

  2. It’s best to steer clear of abrasive products for the longevity of our expensive crockery. Also, abrasives can cause scratches on the surface of the dishes, which allows deeper access to stains and grease. Hence, we recommend using only mild cleaning products and non-abrasive pads.

How to Clean Your Crockery After a Party

  1. Step 1: Remove All the Debris

We started our cleaning process by scraping off all the remnant particles and debris from the crockery and utensils with a plastic spatula or soft brush to ensure that they are not scratched. This simple step not only prevents large food particles from drying up on the surface of the dishes but also from blocking the drain.

  2. Step 2: Give the Dishes a Good Soak

This is one method we use extensively and find to be highly effective in getting rid of the grease and oil on our dishes with ease. We fill the soiled utensils  with hot water and a few drops of dishwashing liquid and let them sit for an hour in the solution. The soapy water loosens the grease and grime and helps in saving precious time that we would otherwise have to spend on scrubbing at caked on food.

  3. Step 3: Use a Good Quality Dishwashing Liquid

While we wanted our dishes to be sparkling and spotless, we also wanted them to be free of germs and bacteria. Thus, we began looking for a dishwashing liquid that could take care of both these aspects. As we scoured the supermarket shelves, we came across the Vim Anti Bac Dishwash Liquid with Neem. Its label mentioned that it contains natural ingredients like neem, lemon and eucalyptus and that’s what caught our attention.

Neem and eucalyptus, as we all know, have been used in Indian households since time immemorial as natural germ killers. Hence, we could be certain that our utensils were germ-free.

On the other hand, lemon has been an integral part of our kitchens in removing grease, stains and lending a fresh fragrance to utensils. The presence of lemon in Vim Anti Bac Dishwash Liquid with Neem helped remove the grease, grime and oil from  our crockery  effortlessly. We also loved the fact that it did not leave behind any powdery white residue on our favourite crockery.

  4. Step 4: Scrub the Dishes

We emptied the soapy water after soaking the dishes for the allotted time. This was followed by scrubbing the crockery gently with a non-abrasive sponge to avoid scratches or marks from forming on the utensils. Considering the volume of dishes we had to scrub, we thought our hands would have to bear the brunt of it. But, we noticed that Vim Anti Bac Dishwash Liquid with Neem was much milder on our hands compared to other dishwashing bars. Another added benefit!

  5. Step 5: Rinse and Dry Properly

We then washed the dishes properly in hot water to remove all traces of the soapy solution.

We followed it up by wiping the cutlery and crockery with a microfiber cloth so that no lint from the fabric stuck to the utensils. Our dishes were now sparkling and a pleasant neem fragrance of Vim Anti Bac Dishwash Liquid with Neem emanated from them, which continued to linger on long after washing them.

Dishwashing is one of the most challenging chores that we have to deal with after hosting a party, which often dampens the festive spirit. Thankfully, Vim Dishwash Antibac Liquid Neem has simplified our entire dishwashing experience. We no longer have to worry about germs milling on our crockery and cutlery and even save on elbow grease, making us happy hosts.
