Must-haves in your shoe care kit
The sign of a real adult is not just buying shoes but maintaining them. Here’s how you can build your own shoe care kit to keep your nicest pairs in good condition, rain or shine.
If there's something really wrong with your shoe, don't wait until the last possible moment to seek a solution. Go to the cobbler before there's any permanent damage.
1) Cotton cloth
Clean the dust off your shoes with a cotton cloth but make sure not to use a damp cloth for the leathers or suedes.

2) Leather cleaner
A quality cleaner for all your leathers is essential. Use a sponge to apply the liquid over the shoes to remove the dirt from the sole and its body. Keep them to dry for a few minutes.
3) Polish
A good boot polish and one horsehair brush are must-haves. There should always be a thin layer of polish on your leather shoes. Weekly applications are recommended.

4) Some TLC
Look for protection spray or you can always keep some beeswax. Rub it over the shoes to weather-proof them.
All these items can fit in a not-so-big travel box and if there's something really wrong with your shoe, don't wait until the last possible moment to seek a solution. Go to the cobbler before there's any permanent damage.
Happy shoes. Happy feet.
