Candle-holders are worth your every penny. Lighting a candle can immediately lift your spirits, but what do you do when the candle has burnt out, and the holder is covered in melted wax? What’s more, these candle holders would have been used as part of your decorations during the December festivities. Here are some useful tips to easily remove wax from your candle-holder.

1) Freeze the Holder

Freezing is one of the simplest ways to get wax out of the holder. Put the candle-holder in your freezer for an hour. This will cause the wax to shrink because of the frigid temperature. Pop out the wax or use a butter knife to remove it from the candle-holder. Now, clean the holder using soap and water.

2) Use Boiling Water

Scrape off as much wax as you can with a butter knife. Then, submerge the candle-holder in ½ a bucket of hot water. Wait until you see the bits of hardened wax clearing from the holder. Then take a few drops of dishwashing liquid on a sponge and scrub. Wash with plain water.

3) Use an Oven

Take a baking pan and place a tin foil or 5-6 layers of parchment paper on it. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Place the candle-holder upside down on the pan and put it in the oven. Set the oven for 15 minutes. The wax will melt and drip into the pan. Switch off the oven and take out the candle-holder using a towel or oven-safe mittens. Let it cool. Then, wash the holder with dishwashing gel. Do not use this tip when cleaning a wooden candle holder.

Your candle-holder is now ready to host another dinner party!
