If your washing machine is left standing in the same spot for days, it can cause stains on the tiles below it. With time, these stains become stubborn and if left unattended can mar the beauty of your tiles. You can easily bid these stains goodbye by moving your washing machine every once in a while and cleaning the floor space below it.
Use these smart tips to save your time and effort.
1)Â Get Rid of Grease
The accumulation of dust under the washing machine can make the floor greasy. Take a bucket of lukewarm water, add 1 cup of vinegar along with 4 tsp. of dishwashing gel to it. You can also add a few drops of essential oil to get rid of any smell. Mix all the ingredients well. Now soak a cleaning cloth in this solution and wipe your floor. The grease will disappear in minutes. Wipe the floor again with plain water to clean the area thoroughly. You can use this cleaning solution on linoleum flooring, wooden flooring, vinyl flooring and tiles. However, avoid cleaning marble floors with it.
2)Â Get Rid of Rust
Not moving the washing machine or the trolley for days can cause rust stains on the floor. To clean this, wipe the area with a dry cotton cloth. Then, sprinkle some baking soda on the stains. Leave it for 1-2 hours. Next, moisten a dry cotton cloth with a few drops of vinegar and scrub the stained area with this cloth. This should clear the rust stains. Wipe the area with plain water and let it dry before you move back your washing machine. If the stains don’t come off, repeat the same procedure once again.

3)Â Get Rid of Trolley Marks
A trolley helps us move our washing machine with ease. But the friction between the wheels and the floor can leave marks on your floor. To get rid of these streaks, add 3 tsp. of dishwashing gel in a bowl of lukewarm water. Soak a cleaning cloth in this solution and wipe the floor. If the marks are difficult to remove, prepare a mixture using 1 cup of baking soda and 3 tsp. of water. Apply this mixture on the stained area and let it rest for 30 minutes. Wipe off the mixture with a wet cloth to remove those tough stains.
