There’s nothing worse than termites destroying your beautiful wooden furniture. They are tiny and difficult to spot, which makes them even more difficult to deal with. Learning how to prevent termites is essential for every homeowner. The only solution is to clean your surfaces regularly.
Follow these simple tips to keep termites away from your wooden furniture.
1) Take Advantage of the Sun
The sun is a powerful natural force that will help you rid your furniture of those pesky termites. Leave your affected wooden furniture under the sun for 2-3 days. Termites can’t survive the heat and either die or leave. This method also helps to get rid of the moisture in the furniture, thus preventing further infestation.
2) Apply Neem Oil
Take a bowl and fill it with neem oil. Next, dip a cloth in the bowl and apply the neem oil over the affected area. Repeat the process for 2-3 days, and you’ll notice the termites moving away from your wooden furniture.

3) Make a Trap Using Cardboard
Take a cardboard box. Moisten the box with water to enhance the distinctive smell you get from wet cardboard. Place it near the affected area. Within a few hours, you will see the termites move to the cardboard. Discard or burn the cardboard to get rid of the termites.
4) Use Vinegar
Vinegar is a readily available ingredient in your home and can help eliminate termites. Take 2 lemons, cut them in half and squeeze the juice in a bowl. Add ½ a cup of vinegar to this bowl and mix well. Put the mixture into a spray bottle and apply on the affected areas.
Keep these tips handy, and you won’t have to worry about termite infestation any more.
