A small step to being eco-conscious is reusing your flower pots. However, before you plant your new seedling, ensure the pot is cleaned thoroughly. This will help you maintain the overall look of the pot and avoid transferring any bacteria to the new plant.

Cleaning flower pots can be easy and fun if you follow the surface cleaning steps given below. But, before you get to it, make sure you are dressed for the job! Step 3: Make a Cleaning Solution

Mix 1 tbsp. of dishwashing liquid in a bowl of water. Mix well.

Step 4: Disinfect your Pots

Soaking your pots in a homemade cleaning solution is one of the simplest ways to disinfect them. This is an important step to ensure that your next plant grows healthy and strong. You may have to soak your flower pots in the cleaning solution for 10-15 minutes, or longer, depending on the dirt accumulated on them.

Step 5: Rinse with Clean Water

To remove detergent residue, rinse your flower pots with clean water. Ensure they are rinsed thoroughly as your plant will absorb any leftover chemical.

Step 6: Dry your Pots

Moisture can lead to mildew. So, air-dry your flower pots in the sun.

Your old flower pots are now as good as new! You can now liven up your rooms with these freshly cleaned flower pots.
