You need to employ a different cleaning technique to keep your rugs in good condition.

There are many kinds of rugs. They come in different shapes, sizes and are made from different materials. Before cleaning them, you must read the manufacturer’s instructions carefully to know if you need to machine-wash or hand-wash them. In case you are going to be using the washing machine, put your rugs in a pillowcase or a cotton bag. Avoiding direct contact with the drum will significantly reduce the risk of damage to your rugs.

Vacuum your rugs every week. In case of a stain, treat it as soon as possible. This will prevent the stain from setting firmly into your rug. Wash your rugs once every 3 months to keep them looking new for longer.

Put your rug to wash as per the instructions on the care label. Do not wring your rug to remove excess moisture. If you are machine-washing it, do not put it in the dryer. To clean your rug in washing machine, you can try using Surf Excel Matic Liquid for this. It leaves no residue (like powders do) as being a liquid it dissolves completely in water. It helps maintain your machine’s life. Flat-dry your rug in a shaded place away from direct sunlight to prevent discolouration.
