Marble and granite are prone to corrosion due to acidic reaction. So, you must be careful while cleaning and mopping your floors. Remember to avoid using vinegar and a rough scratchpad to treat stains on your floor.
Ingredients to Keep Handy:
a) Dishwashing liquid
b) Cold water
c) Sponge
d) Cotton cloth
e) Bucket of water
f) Floor cleaner
g) Cleaning towel
h) Microfibre cloth

To Remove Stains
Step 1: Prepare a Cleaning Solution
Squeeze 3-4 drops of dishwashing liquid and 2 tsp. of white vinegar in a bowl of cold water.
Step 2: Clean with It
Dampen a sponge in the soapy solution and rub the stained spot in straight lines. Do not scrub in a circular motion as it could damage the smooth finish of your flooring.
Step 3: Buff with a Damp Cloth
Once the stains are removed, wipe the area gently with a damp cloth. Do not scrub to remove the soapy layer.
For Regular Care and Maintenance
Step 1: Prepare a Cleaning Solution
Add 2 tsp. of dishwashing liquid to a bucket of warm water.
Step 2: Mop the Floor
Dampen a cotton cloth with the cleaning solution and wipe the floors gently.
Step 3: Rinse the Floor
Empty the bucket and fill it with plain water. Grab another cleaning towel and soak it in the bucket. Squeeze to remove excess moisture and wipe the floors with it. Ensure that you get every bit of the soapy residue.
You can clean and disinfect the floor using a suitable disinfectant floor cleaner, like a sodium-hypochlorite based product such as Domex Floor Cleaner which kills germs. Follow instructions on the pack for usage and compatible surfaces and always test on an inconspicuous area first.
Step 4: Dry the Floor
Grab a microfibre cloth and pat the floor dry. Do not leave the floor to air-dry as it will leave behind unsightly watermarks.
The smooth finish of marble and granite flooring reflects your sophisticated taste. It uplifts the aesthetics of your house and helps you make a good impression on your guests. With a little effort, you can keep their shine intact for longer.
