Your closets tend to get dusty over the course of the year. The festive season is the ideal time to not only declutter but also to clean your closet. Here are a few steps to follow.
You can rub a tsp. of egg-free mayonnaise on your closet shutters with a cloth to add a bit of shine to your wooden closet. Remember to use a dry cloth to wipe the mayonnaise off. Add mothballs to your closet to keep it fresh. You can also put newspaper or wrapping paper on the shelves before putting your clothes in. This will help the next time you plan on cleaning your closet.
Step 1: Empty Your Closet
This is probably the easiest step. Just take everything out of your closet! Here, you need to also empty out drawers, ensuring that your closet is completely clear to begin cleaning. You can connect your speakers and play your favourite tunes to make this process even more fun!
Step 2: Clean Out Any Dirt
Here is where you can take advantage of the empty space to start cleaning. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean out any dirt from your closet. You can even use a duster to remove loose dirt from the shelves and in and around the cupboard. Take an old toothbrush to clean any hard-to-reach corners.

Step 3: Make Soapy Solution
Heat 1 litre of water in a vessel. Pour this warm water into a bucket and add 3 tsp. of dishwashing liquid to it. Now, take a cloth, dip it in this soapy solution and wipe your entire closet, both inside as well as outside.
Step 4: Wipe Your Closet
Put cool water in another container. Take a cloth, dip it in the water, squeeze out any excess water and wipe your closet. Take a cloth and wipe off any excess water to ensure no watermarks are left behind.
Step 5: Remove Stains
If there are still stains remaining, add 1 cup of vinegar to 1 cup of water. Dip a clean sponge in this mixture, then scrub the stained areas. Again, wipe with a dry cloth to avoid leaving watermarks.
There you go. Follow these steps to clean your closet. And remember to play some music while you're busy working!
