Give your walls a quick dust as part of your weekly cleaning routine. This will help avoid a build-up of dust and grime, meaning that you will not need to clean them regularly.

How to Clean Walls – Paint and Wallpaper

Firstly, check the manufacturer's instructions on the care label for the paint or wallpaper (some wallpapers should not be washed and in this case avoid water on the surface).

Step 1:

Start by giving your walls a light dusting with a clean rag (you don’t want to rub dust into the wall as this will cause more dirty marks).

Step 2:

Tackle the noticeable stains and marks first. Spray a dampened clean white cloth with a good multipurpose cleaner like Cif and test it on a small hidden area of the wall. If no adverse effects occur, gently wipe the rest of the stains with it. Avoid scrubbing hard, as it can damage the surface of your paint or wallpaper.

Step 3:

Finish by wiping the whole surface of the wall with a clean sponge dampened with a multipurpose spray.

How to Clean Wall Tiles

The grout in-between the tiles is a prime place for germs to linger, so it’s important to clean them regularly.

Step 1:

Wipe the walls with clean cloth to remove any surface dust.

Step 2:

Spray a bleach-based cleaner. Ensure that your hands are protected with gloves and the room is well-ventilated. Always follow the instructions given on the product label.

Step 3:

Leave the cleaner to sink in for 30 minutes. Then, use a hard-bristled brush or an old toothbrush to scrub in-between the tiles.

Step 4:

Lastly, rinse the tiled wall with clean water and dry using a towel.

Now that your walls are clean and sparkling, the whole house should feel brighter!
