While using a silver puja thali, place a small brass bowl in the thali to burn camphor. However, if you do end up with burnt camphor stains on the silver thali, use these simple cleaning tips.

1) Use Lemon Juice and Powdered Milk

Add 1 tsp. of lemon juice to ½ a cup of water along with ½ a cup of powdered milk. Apply this mixture on your silverware and leave it overnight. You can gently scrub the stained area on the thali using a soft-bristle toothbrush. Next morning, rinse your silver puja thalis with plain water and wash them with mild dishwashing liquid.

2) Use Cornstarch

Make a paste by mixing ½ a cup of cornstarch and ½ a cup of water. Apply this paste on the stained area of your silver puja thali and leave it for 15 min. Then, wipe off the dry paste with a clean, damp cloth. Finally, wash your silver thali with mild dishwashing liquid.

3) Use Baking Soda and Vinegar

Add 1 tbsp. baking soda and 1 tbsp. of sea salt in ½ a cup of vinegar. Pour this mixture on the thali to fully cover the stained area. Now, pour boiling water on your thali and leave it for 30 minutes. Rinse your silver puja thali with plain water.

4) Use Olive Oil and Lemon Juice

Mix 1 tsp. of olive oil and ½ a cup of lemon juice. Soak a clean microfibre cloth in this solution and gently scrub the stained area on your thali with it. Then rinse the thali with plain water. If the stain persists, soak your microfibre cloth in the solution and scrub again.

Now you can decorate your silver puja thali with flowers without worrying about stains spoiling its beauty.
