Your work shoes can be a mixture of formal, comfortable, heels and flats. All these depend on the situation or environment you’re stepping into on a given day. Therefore, you may have several pairs to mix and match with your outfits. However, over time, your shoes do tend to wear out. Here are some simple surface cleaning tips to keep your old office shoes looking as good as new.
1) For Leather Shoes
Clean off the dust by wiping your leather shoes with a microfibre cloth. Next, make a solution comprising equal parts of water and vinegar. Dip a damp cloth in this solution and wipe your shoes. Take a clean, soft cloth and wipe them dry. Finally, buff them with a shoe polish using a shoe brush. You can also wipe your leather shoes using a silk cloth to enhance the shine.
2) For Suede Shoes
Take a soft-bristled shoe brush and working in one direction, gently brush off any loose dirt and dust from your suede shoes. If you have some tough stains on your suede shoes, pour 2-3 drops of white vinegar and 1-2 drops of dishwashing liquid on a clean cloth and wipe the stained area gently. Then, rub with a brush to get those tough stains out.

3) For Faux Leather
To clean your faux leather shoes, you’ll need an old toothbrush. First, make a paste by mixing 2 tbsp. of baking soda in 1 cup of water. Add 1-2 drops of dishwashing liquid. Dip the old toothbrush in the paste and scrub your sneakers. Finally, wipe with a slightly damp cloth. Allow the shoes to completely dry before you use them.
There you go! Follow these tips and your old work shoes will look as good as new. Now you can feel free to match your favourite pair of work shoes with the right outfit, colourful handbag or even a leather jacket.
