Most of the embroidered outfits are made out of delicate materials such as satin, lace, chiffon and so on. These kind of garments aren’t suitable for regular ironing. They need a smart ironing technique. Want to know how? Don’t worry, it’s not as tricky as it sounds!

Here’s a step by step method to help you simplify the process.

Before steaming, get rid of the stains if any. Take a bowl of water and add 1-tsp. mild detergent to it. Gently dab this solution on the stained area with your fingers to clean it.

Step 1:

The first step is to steam. Hang your outfit on a wooden hanger and place it in your bathroom while taking a hot shower. The steam in the shower will help get rid of a lot of creases on the outfit.

Step 2:

Next, dry. After the dress has dried for 4-5 hours, take it out of your bathroom.

Step 3:

Turn your dress inside out and lay it on your ironing board. This’ll protect the fabric of your dress from direct ironing. Now, spread a clean cloth over it to add an extra layer of protection against direct heat. Using a low-temperature setting, press your dress. Remember not to iron your silk and satin fabrics using a high-temperature setting as they burn very easily.
