A steaming cup of black tea can recharge your mind and body. It is packed with antioxidants that aid digestion. You can add a few slices of lemon to enhance its flavour and give your black tea a nice fresh, lemony aroma. But, when some of that tea lands on your salwar kameez, especially while you are at work, that hot cup may not look so refreshing any longer.

Use the laundry tips and tricks given below to bid goodbye to the black tea stains on your salwar kameez.

1) Use Baking Soda

Cover the stained area of your clothing item with baking soda. Rub the baking soda on the garment with a damp sponge. This should lift the stain from the fabric. Rinse the spot with fresh tap water. Let it air-dry.

2) Use Vinegar

Pour vinegar on the stained area of the fabric or soak the stained area in a bowl of vinegar for 15 minutes. The vinegar will act on the stain and remove it from your garment. Rinse with plain water. Now, put your clothes to wash in the washing machine. You can use Surf Excel Matic Liquid, which is specially formulated for washing machines and is easily available in the market. It leaves no residue (like powders do) as being a liquid it dissolves completely in water and helps maintain your machine’s life.

3) Use Salt and Club Soda

Sprinkle salt on the stained area of your clothing and follow it up with some club soda. Scrub with an old soft-bristled toothbrush to remove the black tea stains from your garment. Rinse with cold water and air-dry.

4) Use Laundry Detergent

Apply laundry detergent directly on the stained spots. Let it rest on the stain for 5 minutes, then soak the garment in cold water for another 15 minutes. Now, gently scrub the area with a damp cloth. Rinse thoroughly and hang the garment to dry.

Removing black tea stains from your garments couldn’t get any simpler.
