The cardboard box might have gotten soggy due to moisture or may have come in contact with chemicals or moss. And that certainly leaves a mark on the shelf. For the clean-up operation, these particular stains are more difficult to diagnose and fix. Don’t panic! We’re here to make life easier.

Do not be tempted to use bleach on the stain. Bleach can leave behind a nasty yellow mark.

Step 1:

Scrape off any hard residue stuck on the shelf with a plastic scraper. Do not force it. Clean the surface with a clean cloth.

Step 2:

Mix 1/2 a cup of white vinegar and 1/2 a cup of baking soda in a container. Pour the mixture into a clean, empty spray bottle and top up with warm water. Baking soda and vinegar are natural cleaners that will absorb the stains.

Spray the affected area with a cleaning solution. Let it sit for 15 minutes. Pick a scrub pad which is suitable for the surface and clean the area.

Step 4:

Blot the residue away with a dry absorbent cloth and let the surface dry thoroughly.
