The best part of the cake is the icing; the more, the better. But what do you do if your little one accidentally drops cake on your carpet? There’s no need to worry. This surface cleaning method and these cleaning products can make your task easy.

Follow this simple guide to get your carpet clean.

Avoid rubbing the fresh stain as you might end up spreading it further.

Before actually cleaning it, it’s better to remove the residue. If the cake residue has dried, use a butter knife to scrape it. Thoroughly scoop all the cake frosting from the carpet. This will make the cleaning task easy.

Step 2: Dampen the Stain

It’s better to dampen the area, so the stain smoothens and comes off easily. Now, use a couple of paper towels to blot the area.

Step 3: Apply a Cleaning Solution

Prepare a cleaning solution by mixing 1 cup of vinegar in 4 cups of warm water. Vinegar will break the stains. Use a sponge to dab the stained area with this solution and let it rest for 20 minutes.

Step 4: Blot the Stains

Blot the stained area again. Use a couple of paper towels or a clean cloth to blot the stain. Repeat this step till the frosting stain comes off completely.

Step 5: Rub the Area

Pour some warm water on the area and rub the stains with a cloth thoroughly. Then blot again.

Step 6: Vacuum the Carpet

Use a vacuum cleaner to dry the carpet completely.

There you go! It’s that easy! After you try this method, you won’t have to worry about cleaning those unwanted cake stains from your carpet any more.
