Trendy outdoor furniture can liven up your backyard, terrace or poolside area. But because these pieces of furniture are exposed to dust, sunlight, rain and weather changes, they require regular care. Here are a few tips to help you maintain your outdoor furniture.

1) Wooden Furniture

Most outdoor wooden furniture pieces are coated with varnish and are easy to clean. Add 5-6 drops of liquid detergent to a mug of water. Dip a sponge or cloth in this soapy solution and wipe them. Use a hose to clean the soapy water and dirt. Wipe dry to avoid watermarks.

2) Metal-Framed Furniture

Iron, steel and aluminium frames can be cleaned with mild soap and water. Simply add 3-4 drops of liquid detergent in a mug of water. Dip a cloth in the soapy mixture and wipe the frames of your furniture. Use a hose to spray clean water to remove the suds. You can also dip a cloth in clean water and wipe the frames. 3) Wicker Furniture

Wicker furniture is a popular choice for the balcony, garden or terrace because it is easy to clean and care for. First, use a vacuum cleaner to remove loose dust. If you don’t have a vacuum cleaner, you can use a clean cloth to wipe the dust off your furniture. If you see stains, take 3-4 drops of mild liquid detergent and mix it in a mug of warm water. Dip a sponge in this soapy solution and wipe the stained area. Rinse and allow your furniture to dry naturally.

4) Plastic Furniture

Plastic furniture is durable, easy to maintain, cheap and does not rot or rust, which makes it a popular choice. However, it needs to be cleaned often.Dust your furniture with a cloth, and then spray water with a hose to remove surface dust and grime. Next, add 1 cup of vinegar to a litre of water and wipe your plastic furniture with a cloth dampened in this solution. Finally, dry your plastic furniture with a cloth or towel.

There you go! Follow these tips and make your outdoor furniture shine.
