India is the land of festivals. We celebrate every festival by bonding over food and traditions. But, after savouring the delicious dishes at your festive dinner, you often notice greasy, caked-up stains on your cooker. Have you also been through this situation? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. We’re here with a step-by-step cleaning method to help you get your non-stick cooker looking spotless in a jiffy.
Here we go!
Step 1: Fill Water
Fill half the capacity of your cooker with water.
Step 2: Drop Onion Slices
Then add 2-3 onion slices to the water. For tougher stains, add the skins of 4-5 onions along with the slices.
Step 3: Cover It
Place it on a stove and cover it with a plate. Ensure that you don’t seal the pressurised lid.
Step 4: Boil It
Switch on the stove and allow the water and onions to boil for 20-30 minutes.
Step 5: Allow It to Cool
After boiling, take the cooker off the stove and allow it to cool. Wear gloves or use a thick cotton cloth for this step.
Step 6: Scrub with Dishwashing Liquid
Add 3 drops of your preferred dishwashing liquid and scrub the stains with a scrubbing pad. Thoroughly scrub the inner and outer surfaces to remove all the stains.
Step 7: Rinse It
Now, rinse with plain water.
Step 8: For Stubborn Stains
If you still find any stubborn stains that refuse to go away, make a cleaning solution by mixing 2 tsp. of dishwashing liquid and 2 tsp. of vinegar in ½ a cup of warm water. Mix it well and use a sponge to scrub the stains with this solution.
Step 9: Rinse Again
By now the stains should be gone. Rinse again with plain water and your cooker will look squeaky clean!
