And if it is an oil spill in the condiments’ drawer, then the situation is even trickier. But, as always, we’ve got a quick guide to save the day.
Top TipIn case you do not have cornstarch, you can use baking soda, salt, flour or another type of absorbent material.
Extricate the condiments and transfer them to another container. You have to act quickly and empty the drawer.
Carefully blot up all the oil you can with paper towels. Do not waste too much paper to clear the oil spill. Carefully dispose of the waste paper in the bin.
Sprinkle cornstarch or oatmeal on the oil mess. Make sure you cover the corners as well. Let it sit for several minutes. Sweep up the cornstarch and/or oatmeal and repeat until all oil is absorbed. You need to absorb as much oil as possible before trying to mop it up.
With some Vim dishwash gel, scrub the remaining stains of oil and rinse it. This will also help you get rid of any stench.
Now the drawer is as good as new, with no oil stains in any corner!
