Your kitchen may be one of the most used spaces in your home. It’s an area you want to keep clean and tidy. But at times you may find it difficult to get rid of unpleasant smells from your kitchen counter, sink or garbage bin.
Follow our step-by-step guide to enjoy cooking in a kitchen that always smells good.
For an Odour-Free Kitchen Sink
Step 1: Sprinkle Baking Soda
Evenly sprinkle ½ a cup of baking soda in the sink and pour 1 cup of lemon juice over it. Let it rest for about 10 minutes.

Step 2: Pour Hot Water
Next, pour 2 cups of hot water down the drain.
Step 3: Add Ice Cubes and Salt
Finally, drop a handful of ice cubes in your sink and sprinkle 1 cup of salt. Stir the mixture vigorously with a rolling pin or spatula. The melting ice and salt will cleanse your sink. Once the ice has melted, rinse your sink with plain water.
Your kitchen sink should now be clean and odour-free.
For an Odour-Free Garbage Bin
Step 1: Grind Lemon Peels
Grind 6-7 lemon peels.
Step 2: Store the Peels
Transfer the powdered peels to a bowl and place it close to your garbage bin. The lemon peel powder will absorb the bad odour and your bin won’t be smelly anymore. You can also use baking soda as an alternative to lemon-peel powder.
For an Odour-Free Kitchen Counter
Step 1: Make a Solution
Make a cleaning solution by mixing 1 cup of vinegar and 3 cups of lukewarm water. Mix well with a spoon.
Step 2: Clean the Counter
Soak a cloth in this solution and wipe your kitchen counter. It will help you get rid of any sticky residue and eliminate unpleasant odours.
There you go!
The next time you come across unpleasant smells in your kitchen, use these easy methods to drive them away. Enjoy cooking without worrying about smelly distractions!
