After months of daily usage, you’ll start noticing some stubborn brown stains on the inside and outside surfaces of your tea mug, no matter how well you wash it. You may find it impossible to remove these stains at first, but trust us, it’s easy!
Here’s a simple way to remove nasty stains from your tea mug without having to scrub away at them for hours!
Test your cleaning solution on a small inconspicuous area of the mug first before using it all over the item.
Step 1:
Using warm water, rinse your mug to loosen the dirt particles in and around your tea mug.

Step 2:
Sprinkle 1 tsp. of salt or baking soda directly over the stained portion and scrub the area. These products are mildly abrasive, so doing this helps break down the stain. You should be able to see the difference at this stage!
Step 3:
If you don’t have the stain lightening, you’ll probably have to do a little more work, but don’t worry, it’s easy. Fill your mug with hot water and add 2 drops of dishwashing liquid. Let the solution sit for 20-25 minutes. Empty the mug, and then repeat the salt/baking soda process to help remove the leftover tea stain. Depending on the stubbornness of the stain, you may have to repeat this process twice or thrice to get rid of the marks completely.
Step 4:
Rinse the mug and wash it again with your regular dishwashing bar or liquid if required.
There you have it! Follow these steps to keep your favourite tea mug looking clean and fresh for months to come.
