Keep your home smelling pleasant with these excellent tips. After a long day, let the pleasant fragrance soothe your senses and lift your spirits.
1) Use Baking Soda and Essential Oil
Pick out your favourite essential oil and mix 4-5 drops with 1 tbsp. of baking soda in a bowl. Place the bowl in a corner of your room to fill it with pleasant aroma.
2) Use Spray Bottles
Mix 1 cup of water with 2 tbsp. of vanilla extract and 6-7 drops of your preferred essential oil. Stir thoroughly. Pour the contents in an empty spray bottle and spray it in different corners of your home. You can also mix two essential oils to create a distinct fragrance of your choice.
3) Use Reed Diffusers
It’s easy to assemble reed diffusers, and you can also make it a fun activity involving the kids or other members of your family. You’ll need a vase, baby oil, bamboo skewers, essential oil or a combination of essential oils and decoration items. Pour 2 tsp. of essential oil in the vase with 2 tbsp. of baby oil. Immerse bamboo skewers in the vase. Ensure they are taller than your vase. The sticks contain small channels that’ll help the solution travel upwards and diffuse the fragrance in the air. Decorate the vase with ribbons and stickers.
4) Use Simmer Pots
What are your biggest concerns with keeping your washing machine clean?
Add 4 cups of water in a pot and boil it. For a sweet flowery fragrance, add 6-7 lavender sprigs, ½ a pomegranate, 3 dried leaves and a fig. For a spiced aroma, add 2 sticks of cinnamon, 6-7 star anise and cloves. For a fresh fragrance, you can add 8 to 10 slices of lemon with 20 mint leaves.
If it’s summer, try lemon, peppermint or rosemary. For winters, orange and cinnamon are a great fragrance combination.
Add the fragrance of your choice to the pot. Let it simmer on low flame. After the solution has cooled down, pour the mixture into a bowl. Place this bowl in the corner of your room. The scent will slowly diffuse in the air.
