The signs of hosting a great Diwali/Christmas party will be littered all over the house. There will be juice boxes, dessert stains on the carpet and the fallen decorations. Do not postpone the cleaning. The sooner you get to it, the better it is. Given below are some tips to clean up after Christmas party.

1) Wash the Dishes

Wash the dishes with an effective dishwash gel. Soak the dishes in a solution of hot water mixed with 1 tsp. of dishwashing liquid if they are too greasy. You can use Vim Dishwash Gel for this as it helps remove grease. The longer you soak, the easier it will be to wash the grime.

2) Social Areas

This includes your living and dining areas. Collect and throw away all rubbish like paper glasses, tissue papers, crumbled cola cans etc. After that, run a vacuum cleaner over the carpet and rugs. Use a soft brush nozzle to clean your couch, curtains and chairs.

3) Bathroom

Assess the damage and plan accordingly. Remove the shower curtain and put it away for washing. Wipe clean the bathroom cabinets and mirrors. You can use Cif Bathroom Cleaner that cleans watermarks and soap sediments.  Check the pack to understand the correct usage instructions. And always test on a small part to check compatibility. To clean your toilet area, use an effective toilet cleaner like Domex Toilet Cleaner to wash the toilet bowl. Read the back of all the packs for use instructions and test on a small part first.

4) Take Off the Decoration

Take off the lanterns, lights and other items that can be reused the next year. Pack them up neatly in a carton and store it in a safe place. Check if the candles are in proper condition. Throw away melted candles. Wash your glass candle holder using a dishwashing liquid.

5) Bedrooms

Take off the bed sheets, curtains and blankets. Read the care label to know the best way to wash these items. Toss them in the washing machine choosing a suitable wash cycle and water temperature.

6) Disinfect

To disinfect high-touch surfaces like switches and door handles in your living room, you can use Domex Multi-Purpose Disinfectant Spray. It contains Sodium Hypochlorite, as recommended by leading health organisations, for disinfecting surfaces at home. It safely kills germs on frequently touched surfaces in rooms and leaves behind a pleasant fragrance.

All the household chores may make you feel overwhelmed. Break it into small tasks and spread your cleaning over a period of one week.

Delegate small tasks to your kids. It will teach them to be responsible and make them feel involved.
