The showerhead in your bathroom can get clogged due to multiple reasons. Mineral and limescale build-up are the main reasons that cause the choke-up. But don’t let that bother you! We have an easy solution that can unclog your showerhead in less than 2 hours. Want to know how? Read on.
Here’s a detailed step-by-step method to help you out.

Ingredients to Keep Handy:
a) Vinegar
b) Baking soda
c) Brush
d) Sealable bag
e) Rubber band
f) Dishwashing liquid
Step 1: Make a Paste
Mix vinegar and baking soda, 2 tbsp. each in a bowl to make a paste. Make sure you are mixing this in your kitchen sink as these two ingredients when combined, form bubbles.
Step 2: Apply on the Showerhead
With a brush, apply this paste on your showerhead. Make sure you cover the entire surface. Wait for 5-10 minutes.
Step 3: Cover with a Sealable Bag
Fill ¼th of a sealable bag with vinegar and put your showerhead in it. Secure the bag with a rubber band and wait for 1 hour. The paste and vinegar will break down the build-up and make the next cleaning steps easier.
Step 4: Turn on the Water Supply
Next, turn on the water supply on low to medium pressure for 2-4 minutes. This will release the build-up. Then, remove the sealable bag and toss it in the trash before moving on to the next step.
Step 5: Clean Your Showerhead
Now make a solution of ½ a tsp. of dishwashing liquid and ½ a cup of warm water. Use a sponge dipped in this solution to clean your showerhead and then wash with plain water.
Step 6: Use a Bathroom Cleaner
Next, use a bathroom cleaner to thoroughly clean the surface. You can use Cif Bathroom Cleaner that cleans watermarks and soap sediments. Check the pack to understand the correct usage instructions. And always test on a small part to check compatibility.
Step 7: Check the Water Flow
Now turn your showerhead on full blast to check the water flow. This should have solved the problem. However, if you still find a couple of clogged spots, repeat the process.
Happy showering!
